What Families Are Saying
Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve had such a positive experience with this pediatric office. From the moment you walk in, the staff is welcoming, patient, and genuinely caring. My child has always seen Dr. Jenna Richards and she is absolutely phenomenal. If she has not been there any of the other physicians have been so helpful with keeping my child happy and healthy. The fact they maintain rules about vaccine regulation to keep not only my child but others safe and healthy is wonderful. The doctors and nurses take the time to really listen and never make you feel rushed. They explain things clearly, answer all questions, and make sure both parent and child feel comfortable. It’s obvious they truly care about their patients’ well-being. I cant recommend them enough!Posted on LeahTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great care when I was young I was see by Dr. Salins and Dr. Richard’s. I was sad after I got married and couldn’t see them anymore lol. When I have children myself they will definitely be seen by them. 5/5 recommended.Posted on vanessa humeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I bring all three of my littles here and we’ve seen several of the doctors. We’ve always had a great experience and my kids have always been well taken care of.Posted on Jenn RoseTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Always so friendly and always get my child in when she is sick. They are even open Saturday mornings!Posted on YOLOTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Edit: Since posting this review, I was contacted by the leadership team at Madison Pediatrics, and we had a detailed conversation about what occurred that day. They acknowledged that the situation was not handled appropriately and agreed that my child should not have been turned away under those circumstances. They took the time to walk through the breakdown in communication and decision making, addressed the concerns I raised, and resolved the doubts I had following the incident. I have a professional background in managing customer facing operations and handling escalated situations, and I understand how policies, billing rules, and workflow gaps can unintentionally interfere with good judgment when teams are under pressure. That context does not excuse what happened, but it does matter that leadership recognized the failure and took ownership of it. I believe the discussion we had was sincere, not performative, and focused on preventing this from happening again. I was reassured that this incident is being used as a training opportunity so staff are better equipped to respond when a child’s condition changes rapidly and medical judgment needs to take priority over administrative limitations. While the experience itself was upsetting, I do appreciate that they reached out directly, listened, and took responsibility rather than dismissing the concern. Based on that conversation, I do plan to continue care with this practice and will be returning. Original: I am extremely disappointed in Madison Pediatrics and the way my child was handled today. My child has a documented history of ear infections and currently has ear tubes. For the past week and a half, he has been fighting an ear infection and has been repeatedly tugging at his ear. This morning, my wife brought him in for a follow-up appointment. At that time, he did not have a fever, which we clearly communicated. Less than three hours later, his condition escalated rapidly. He developed a fever and began having breathing issues. Out of concern for RSV and his safety, I immediately brought him back to the same office. We were refused care. We were told they could not see him because they cannot bill insurance twice in one day. When I asked if the doctor could simply step in and take a quick look at him, given that he was now experiencing breathing issues, that request was also refused. Instead, we were advised to take him to the emergency room, which is part of the same corporate system and would have resulted in hundreds of dollars in out of pocket costs, simply to receive the care that was denied moments earlier. What is even more concerning is that this raises serious questions about patient safety. After being seen in their office earlier that day, my child developed symptoms consistent with RSV. As a parent, it is impossible not to wonder whether exam rooms are being properly cleaned and sanitized between patients, especially in a pediatric setting where contagious illnesses are common and vulnerable children are constantly being seen. This was no longer a routine visit. This was a new and worsening medical situation involving breathing difficulty in a young child. Turning a child away under those circumstances, not based on medical judgment but on billing limitations, is deeply troubling. I used to believe this practice genuinely cared about my children and their well being. Today made it clear that policies and revenue take priority. When a pediatric office chooses insurance rules over evaluating a sick child who is actively deteriorating, trust is lost. Parents rely on pediatric providers to act in the best interest of children. Today, that trust was broken.
